Medipol University Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center (PARMER)

It was established within the Medipol Education Healthcare Group in 2018 as the first and only independent institution that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Movement Disorders, especially Parkinson's disease, and directs research in this field. In 2019, it earned the of ``Center of Excellence and Education`` in the international arena.

PARMER has successfully proven itself in the international arena in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with its expert neurology team specialized in movement disorders providing the latest and most modern medical treatment in the field of medical therapy, advanced laboratory equipment offering genetic diagnostic support to patients, specialized walking and balance rehabilitation equipment and personnel for movement disorder patients, a team of

speech therapists specialized in dystonia and other movement disorders, a psychological test and support group tailored for movement disorder patients, and most importantly, over 30 years of experience in more than 1700 movement disorder surgeries, including over 1200 Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgeries.

PARMER has garnered significant attention for consecutively performing the highest number of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgeries in our country and neighboring regions for the past 3 years. Moreover, it serves as a center where neurology and neurosurgery specialists from Europe, the entire Middle East, North Africa, the Balkans, and Turkish-speaking countries can receive practical training in all aspects of movement disorders, including the surgery and programming of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) devices. PARMER is recognized as a center where healthcare professionals from this geographic area can receive comprehensive practical education in the field of movement disorders.

Medipol University Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center (PARMER) provides support for the treatment of various conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, other types of tremors, dystonia, Parkinson Plus syndromes (Multiple System Atrophy, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), Tardive syndromes, chorea, Huntington’s disease, paroxysmal dyskinesias, myoclonus, Tourette’s syndrome, and Wilson’s disease. In addition, PARMER offers information seminars for patients and their families, balance and speech rehabilitation, psychological testing and support services, as well as various workshops (such as percussion, calligraphy, painting, etc.) to promote socialization and well-being among patients.
